Meat Hunts - May 1 – Feb
Meat hunts are extremely popular and form a major part of our herd management requirements. It allows hunters to come in and fill the freezer in an affordable way and we allocate a good percentage of the hind, yearling and management stag cull requirements to this every year.
Minimum booking is for 2 days
For Mokai Station we generally base out of Mokai Hut where we can hunt the low lying areas often within 100m of the hut or head up to the tussock areas.
We will generally run a maximum of 2 hunters per guide subject to personal hunting experience so please call us with your requirements and hunter numbers so we can organise our Guides and the best hunt package. Generally we run with a maximum of 4 Hunters per trip. We have specials for NZDA members so please give us a call.
Pricing is based on a day rate per hunter and then a management animal fee and this includes Guiding Fees, accommodation and meals. Please contact for a quote.
Trophy Hunts & The Roar.
20th March through to 20 April is the peak time for the Roar at Mokai and we often have stags still going at it for a few weeks after that. Hard antler hunting opportunities run through to when the animals cast around late August.

Pricing will be confirmed on each animal but generally pricing will range between $1000 - $10,000 depending on the age of the animal and quality of the antlers.
